You don’t need experience to begin

You don’t need to know how to meditate—or consider yourself “creative.”

This experience is designed as a gentle introduction. Meditation is simple and guided, with no expectation to get it right. Creativity is approached without pressure—just space to explore and express.

🌿 A slower rhythm

Mornings are intentionally unstructured.

There are no early wake-ups. You’ll have time to move slowly and ease into your day, with sessions beginning later in the morning (around 11am).

Many participants arrive feeling unsure, and leave with a deeper sense of ease, clarity, and connection. You are not expected to arrive prepared—only open.

Founder

Rashida Joy Allen is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores self-rediscovery, inner child healing, and generational transformation through visual art, meditation, and place-based experience.

After two decades working in global creative marketing, she has returned to her artistic practice and developed The Art of the Journey™, a methodology that integrates intuitive art, mindfulness, and travel as pathways to personal exploration and restoration.

Retreat Philosophy

The Art of the Journey Retreat invites participants to slow down, reconnect with their inner-child’s creative voice, and explore personal narratives + goals through art, meditation, and place.

Rather than focusing on artistic skill or productivity, the retreat emphasizes presence, emotional exploration, and intuitive creativity.

Each retreat moves through the five pillars of the methodology:

Stillness → Expression → Memory → Place → Integration.

Daily Rhythm

Each day begins slowly, with space to wake naturally and ease into the morning at your own pace.

Late mornings open with guided meditation—an invitation into stillness, helping you reconnect with your breath and inner landscape. These moments are simple, beginner friendly, and designed to meet you exactly where you are.

From there, we move into guided creative exploration. Through intuitive art-making and thoughtful guided prompts, you’ll begin to access a more instinctive, unfiltered form of expression—supported by your guide, but never confined.

Afternoons are open and expansive—time to rest, explore, or connect with the surrounding environment, from the ocean and pool to quiet moments on your own.

Connection is a natural part of the experience. Whether through shared reflection or casual conversation, the group becomes a source of insight and support.

Throughout, the space is intentionally held—balancing structure and flow—so you can feel comfortable, supported, and free to engage in your own way.

Evenings are yours to move through as you wish—whether joining the group for dinner and connection, or enjoying a slower, more private close to the day.

Whether it’s time spent by the pool, along the ocean, or exploring the landscape on horseback, these moments invite a different kind of presence—less structured, more open.

All experiences are optional, allowing you to move at your own pace—balancing rest, exploration, and connection in a way that feels right for you.
